We Call Forth Our Destiny In God

From my last visit to Korea in April of 2007, God amazingly connected me with some influential people in Korean market place. This divine connection led us to share and pray into the heart of God and the purpose of His Kingdom. As I was continuously being connected with these amazing women and men of God, I was blessed to watch how their lives have been unfolding in the hands of God. I was able to witness the hands of God on these passionate lovers of Jesus over a year now. What was more amazing was that how God brought all of us who met in last April together again for His amazing encounter this time again in Korea and it was a meeting that everyone felt the open heavens.
A well-known and a socially-influential producer, Mr. Woo Hyun Kim, felt led to hold a meeting while Iris Team and Lesley-Anne of Holy Given School were in town. I also felt to connect them in order that the Holy Spirit can make its move into the main-stream of Korean Christians and even churches. Mr. Kim wanted to have a small gathering, almost like a prophetic roundtable type of meeting, but it ended up filling the whole room that would only hold about 200 people and it overflowed the room. They somehow heard it by word of mouth and have decided to come. I was very nervous because I didn’t know who would come and their backgrounds, most of all, I knew that they were all coming with desperate heart to hear God and encounter Him. I also so desperately wanted God to show up and do what He does best and possess them into His heart for them to walk into their true destiny that God has planned for them.
Lesley-Anne, Yonnie, Molica, Pastor Elijah Ahn and I arrived at the meeting not knowing what God wanted us to share or wanted to do. Lesley-Anne and I prayed in the car for revelation, but it just didn’t come as clear as we would like to. As we walked into the room, we felt the heat like a fire furnace as we heard people praying and worshipping. The room was packed where we couldn’t even find a room to move up to the front and as we made our way up to the front, all we could do was to put our face down on the ground and inquire God’s face on this meeting. As I put my face down, God had requested something I didn’t even expect. Initially, I was planned to translate Lesley-Anne as she shared, but the Lord wanted me to give that roll to Pastor Elijah Ahn. As anointed as Pastor Ahn was in translating and even in preaching, I felt like my role was taken from the meeting and I contemplated on the request for the longest time.
However, I was convicted of God’s request that I had to obey. When I shared this heart with Lesley-Anne, she wanted me to ask Pastor Ahn if he would only do it with a joyful heart. I believe Pastor Ahn was more challenged by that remark from Lesley-Anne than translation itself.
As the prayer in the room became more fervent, it was evident that the presence of the Holy Spirit was increasing and Lesley-Anne got up to share the very message from the heart of God. Lesley-Anne proclaimed everyone to “Come out of your cave and move into the presence of God!” She began to share this prophetic message from 1 King 19:5-15. It was the mercy of God extended to Prophet Elijah which was also available for these people in the room. “Arise and Eat.”
Then He said, "Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord." And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. 1King 19:11-12
“Come out of the cave and into the presence of the Lord”: God knew what the depressed and discouraged Prophet Elijah needed. He needed a personal encounter with God. There was nothing fundamentally wrong with Prophet Elijah's theology, but at the time there was something lacking in his experience.
This final phenomenon was a marked contrast to the previous manifestations. God actually met Prophet Elijah in the quiet whisper of a voice instead of the earth-shaking phenomenon that had gone before.
And now the thunder ceased, and the lightning was gone, and the earth was still, and the wind was hushed, and there was a dead calm, and out of the midst of the still air there came what the Hebrew calls 'a voice of gentle silence,' as if silence had become audible. There is nothing more terrible than an awful stillness after a dread uproar.
Prophet Elijah perhaps thought that the dramatic display of power at Mount Carmel would turn the nation around. Or perhaps he thought that the radical display of God's judgment against the priests of Baal following the vindication at Mount Carmel would change the hearts of the nation. Neither of these worked. This example is important for Christian ministers, especially preachers, today. It shows that displays of power and preaching God's anger don't necessarily change hearts. Instead, the still small voice of God speaking to the human heart is actually more powerful than outward displays of power or displays of God's judgment.
As this powerful message was being proclaimed by Lesley-Anne, I felt the move of strong presence of the Holy Spirit in the room and He began to minister to those who have been under captivity of self-sufficiency, pride, self-dependency, judgment, depression, disappointments, despair, hopelessness and discouragement. Lesley-Anne, then, proclaimed to “bring the walls down,” of misunderstanding, bitterness, hatred, competitiveness, and resentment. It was the Kingdom message that we turn our other cheeks even times of betrayal and we forgive. Lesley-Anne shared that this was the Heavenly Strategy that we forgive and we ask for forgiveness. Lesley-Ann then repented in front of the people gathered in the room as she represented the church leaders. This very simple and ordinary approach was the new strategy that the Holy Spirit was teaching us. This was the prayer that would move the heart of God and open-up the heavens.
Everyone broke out in tears and they started to repent to one another as they sought to enter into the glory presence of God that awaits us with His kindness and mercy to be restored again in every aspect of their lives.
I felt a strong wind of fire blowing in the room and I took that as a sign to impart on the people to receive the fire of the Holy Spirit. Lesley-Anne and the rest of the team started to blow on people as well and there was a hardly any room to move flexibly but the passion of the people sitting in the room arose and everyone was being consumed by the fire of God. Many three-piece suit men were on the floor weeping without worldly dignity and asking for the fresh wind of God to open their eyes to see the Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven.
This meeting truly witnessed a sovereign move of God and absolutely breathtaking to watch the Holy Spirit at work. There was the power and authority in Heaven and I believe the Lord released that in the meeting as He ripped the Heaven open. Many were being set free and stepping into the light that God had designed for them to find as their refuge in His presence.
The meeting seemed like it ran in a fire furnace. Everyone was so hot; almost everyone looked like they were sweating bullets. Lesley-Anne and I both sweated so much by the time we were done and came outside to the bone-chilling weather, we were freezing and we ended up catching a cold which knocked Lesley-Anne out most of her stay in Korea.
