"Charlie's Angels" - Emily From HG2

Hey Lesley Anne!

Coming back to the US, to Louisiana was way harder than I expected, even WITH the re-entry talks. It wasn't the Wal-mart’s or the grocery stores, it was the whole transition back into a world where community means nothing and individualism and self-centeredness permeate the atmosphere. Then, not a week later, I was already moving away from home again to LSU for another culture shock. Usually, in high school and before, there was the "bad crowd" that smoked, had sex, drank . . . but now, it's EVERYONE! It's like in the spirit, everyone walks around w/ muck all over them and they don't even realize it!

But, in this time God has been faithful, and learning Chinese isn't even as hard as I anticipated! I LOVE it! God has also put together a real family down here and a wonderful down-to-earth kingdom-church that I'm involved in. The point of this email was to share the cool, unexpected things God has done! I came down here w/ the condition that if I were to follow God here, in this dark place, that He would show up and never leave me...and I'd always stay desperate for Him and Him alone. Last Sunday, at church one lady's hip was messed up causing one leg to be shorter than the other one.....I was so parched and so hungry for a miracle, I immediately volunteered to pray for her! God does the miracle anyway! So, as she was sitting and I held her ankle and prayed, her leg GREW OUT in my HANDS!!!! aaagghh!!! It was so incredible! Then, another lady who hasn't been able to really turn her neck for at least a couple of years was healed completely also! So, the supernatural really is starting to break forth in this dark place called College. I love being in this hard place, doing missions and releasing God's word in this area. I got to do an Africa presentation at that same church where the lady was healed and now I'm invited to speak at another church this Sunday morning! I'm excited not about me doing it, but about the fact that God is stirring up hunger and desperation for the Kingdom, for more of Him!

I must say, that I miss Africa and can't wait to go to India, China, Israel...(the list goes on!) but I love being IN the world, to impact the world. I love being in a place where I can see the most apathetic and disillusioned youth of this world catch hold of the radical, awesome love of God, the pulsating heartbeat of heaven! It's so awesome! God is so awesome!

May you continue to have a blast wherever you are! I miss having another sweatas red-head around!!! haha!
