Monday
The students prayed for our guest speakers Weymond and Gill, and we had a time of sharing the visions and prophetic words God gave to the class. It led to an extended ministry time to activate those promises and anoint everyone with oil. We taught on African and Latin American Liberation Theologies in the morning and Weymond taught on good and bad generational inheritance in the afternoon. The students had further ministry for separation and cutting off generational ties and curses.
Tuesday
We prayed for the sick and broke out into extended warfare, deliverance and healing leading to us dancing around and on the map of the Philippines. Afterwards, Lesley-Anne and Pastor Ferds demonstrated interdependence by asking the students to walk on their backs one by one, signifying that Lesley’s and Pastor Ferd’s ceiling will be the students’ floor. It was a really anointed and very emotional time for us all. Later, as a sign of honouring Lesley and Pastor Ferds as our spiritual parents, Holy Given staff and students laid down on floor to let Lesley and Pastor Ferds walk on them.
Weymond taught on gifts of the spirit in the morning with the afternoon session putting the teaching into practice as they learned to prophesy over each other.Wednesday Weymond taught on Cross Cultural Communication in the morning with further teaching on Asian theologies and contextualizing the gospel for Asia using things already in the culture in the afternoon. Thursday One of the students shared a picture about darkness over the Philippines but light from Mindanao (in the south) and Luzon (in the north) met at Visayas (middle region where Leyte is) and there was an explosion. Rays of light from Visayas then went out to different parts of the world. Pastor Ferd led the students to declare Mindanoa, Luzon and Visayas as one, and a representative from each region came together to pray into the vision. Weymond taught more on Cross Cultural Communication.FridayPastor Ferds and Gill taught on reaching out to Muslims today. Everyone came for class dressed as a Muslim would dress, and we adopted the Muslim style of worship for the morning. During worship, God gave a number of students words and visions about end time judgments and disasters that are to come. The Lord is encouraging us to be alert, fix our eyes on Him, stand firm and not to be deceived. He is asking us to count the costs and to completely lay down our lives for the sake of the gospel.
The students gave their ‘Two-Third world theologies’ presentations in the afternoon which involved plenty of drama including the gospel contextualized for Africa and Asia, a Maori Hakka and Mexican style singing and dancing.
SaturdayFiesta preparation day! From dawn until late we all worked hard to get the place ready to receive our guests – the people from the surrounding villages. The sanctuary was made ready and preparations for a great pork banquet prepared. Four pigs were bought, butchered and prepared for cooking on site in an all day long communal effort. We each had a role assigned and it was wonderful seeing everybody working together. Sunday A further 2 pigs were prepared and spit roasted from 1am and the cooks were up from 3 am cooking our feast. At about 8.30 am the truck brought the first of our guests. Lesley spoke at the worship service and many came forward and received healing and salvation. The kids’ workers energetically cared for the many children with face painting and games. When the feast began there was more than enough food for everyone – all were satisfied. The pork was delicious. After the feast there were more games with the children until the truck came to take our guests home. We estimate more than 1000 people came, including over 300 adults. And we had food leftover. So, we packed it in bags and distributed them to the community in the surrounding villages. What a weekend! This is a first for WEBC, and it's such a wonderful sign of new beginnings!Prayer points:1. Please pray as we enter into the last week of school and prepare for graduation.
